Traveling by Air

For those who are not familiar with Connecticut, there’s a website with a great deal of useful information: http://www.ctvisit.com/

Several airports serve the area.

Hartford, Connecticut

Bradley Airport

New York and New Jersey

John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)

LaGuardia Airport (LGA)

Westchester Airport (HPN)

Newark International Airport (EWR)

Ground transportation from the airports and trains is generally limited to rental vehicles and ride services. You can also post at our forum to see if anyone who lives locally can give you a ride. The thread to do that is here: http://vps.xlhnetwork.org/~xlhforum/forum/index.php?topic=303.0

Some hybrid options (plane plus train plus ride) include:

Plane to LaGuardia, taxi/ride to New Rochelle train station; train to New Haven; taxi/ride to North Haven; or

Plane to JFK, subway to Penn Station, train to New Haven, taxi/ride to North Haven

While there are no shuttles between the Best Western and the airports/trains, there is a shuttle from the hotel to the site of XLH Day events at the medical school. You can also connect with other XLHers at the hotel to see if they can give you a ride. Don’t be shy; just ask!
